DOVER – Delaware Probation and Parole Officer’s from Kent County Governor’s Task Force (GTF) have arrested a Dover man for the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

On Tuesday January 10, 2017 at approximately 4:40 p.m., the Kent County Governor’s Task Force (GTF) a joint task force consisting of Delaware Probation and Parole Officers and Delaware State Police, responded to the Wayne Drive, located in the Kent Acres development, to contact two subjects who were wanted for capiases and violation of probation, and to follow up on a complaint about the possibility of a Meth lab at the residence. 

Upon arrival, neither of the subjects in question were located, however, the homeowner consented to a search of the property.  Prior to conducting a search of the shed, troopers and probation officers contacted Gerald W. Shields, 36 of Dover who was initially standing to the rear of the house near the shed.  A search of the shed revealed equipment and component mixtures used to manufacture Methamphetamine, along with key ingredients in making the drug, as well as 1.2 grams of Methamphetamine.

Gerald Shields was taken into custody by officers and charged with Operating a Clandestine Laboratory, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), and Possession of Methamphetamine.
