During a recent home visit, Officers from New Castle Probation resulted in the arrest of a 60-year-old man after police say they found drugs and guns inside the home near New Castle.


Probation and Parole officers accompanied by New Castle County Police went to the home of a probationer, near Dallas Road which is in the Simonds Gardens community. While the probationer in question wasn't home, a second man Ernest Anderson, was inside the residence and officers continued with their home visit.  Inside, officers found a gun and then police proceeded to get a search warrant for the home, as both the probationer and Anderson are not allowed to have firearms. During the search, police found marijuana, cocaine, drug-packaging materials, more than 70 rounds of ammunition and a semi-automatic gun with an extended magazine.
