Frankford – Delaware Probation and Parole Officers assist State Police in Joint Operation to arrest Millsboro man for illegal drug distribution.

On Monday, October 2, 2017, Delaware Probation and Parole Officers assigned to the Governor's Task Force, assisted the Sussex County Drug Unit in completing their investigation of Karmikus T. Smith 41, of Millsboro. The investigation into Smith began after receiving information that he was distributing heroin throughout Sussex County.   Officers conducted a traffic stop on Smith, while he was operating his GMC Yukon on Frankford School Road.  Smith and another unidentified male passenger were taken into custody without incident.  After obtaining a search warrant, officers searched the vehicle and located 1,092 bags (7.64 grams) of heroin and over $500.00 in suspected drug proceeds.

Smith has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 5 Quantity (Heroin), Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He was arraigned at JP2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $61,000.00 cash bond.

The second male passenger was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released on an unsecured bond.
