Georgetown, De. –  Officers from Delaware Probation and Parole took part in a Joint Operation with The Delaware State Police which resulted in the arrest of Stephon R. Jackson, 18 of Seaford, for Murder 1st degree and Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited.

Initially, Jackson had been arrested and charged with two counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited as well as the two new charges of Receiving Stolen Property and Resisting Arrest.  Jackson was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $22,000.00 cash bond. On March 4, 2017, Jackson posted bail and subsequently he was released from Sussex Correctional Institute.

After Jackson was released, Delaware State Police obtained additional warrants for Jackson on new charges including Murder 1st Degree and Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited. In a joint operation, Probation Officers assigned to the Governor’s Task Force assisted Delaware State Police Troopers from Troop 5, Sussex County Governor’s Task Force (GTF), and State Police Special Operations Response Team (SORT), who collaborated with the Homicide Unit Detectives that coordinated the investigation and located Jackson in Georgetown, DE. Mr. Jackson was located at the suspected residence and taken into custody without incident.

Jackson has been committed to Sussex Correction Institution in default of $520,000.00 cash bond.
